Designed
for Dignity.

Always there,
quietly looking out.

Helping people stay independent and helping the people who care about them stay connected — without turning everyday life into surveillance.

Thoughtfully designed. Currently under evaluation.

01 Why MEMENTO exists

This didn’t start with AI.
It started with someone
we care about.

We know what it feels like to want someone you care about to keep living life on their own terms — while finding yourself worrying more about their wellbeing.

That experience came first. The technology came afterwards.

MEMENTO grew from the space between those two feelings: respect for someone’s independence, and the wish to be there when they need you. It is a problem we understand through lived experience.

How do we help without taking away
the very things we’re trying to protect?

The question at the heart of MEMENTO.

02 Designed for Dignity

Support should feel
like freedom.

These are the principles we return to.
In every interaction. In every decision.

Independence first

Support what someone can do. Make room for their choices, routines and capabilities.

Present without
being intrusive

Assistance should fit around everyday life, without making it feel observed.

Private by design

Keep as much understanding as possible on the device. Be clear about what is shared and why.

Human connection,
not replacement

Make it easier to stay connected to the people who matter. Those relationships remain at the centre.

Help when it matters

Technology should be quiet in the background, and simple to turn to when support is needed.

More space for life.
Less space for worry.

03 Meet MEMENTO

A small presence.
A considered purpose.

Made to feel at home.

MEMENTO is being designed to sit comfortably within familiar surroundings. A compact, softly rounded form. One clear orange button. A simple place to turn when you want to reach out.

Its purpose is to make assistance feel approachable, while leaving the rest of the day to you.

04 Life, on your terms

Your day.
Your choices.
Your life.

For the person

The comfort of familiar surroundings. The freedom to follow your own routines. Simple interaction, without another complicated system to manage.

We’re designing MEMENTO to offer support that respects your dignity and your say in how you live.

For the people who care

Connection should mean more than checking in to check up. Our aim is to offer useful reassurance and information when it matters, with respect for the person’s autonomy.

More room for a conversation. Less need for constant checking.

05 Everyday support

Small moments of support.
More room for life.

Thoughtful ways to stay connected, support familiar routines and bring someone’s attention to a moment that may need care.

Technical Evaluation

Safe zones, agreed together

Define familiar areas with the person, with a plan for reassurance and an alert if the device reports leaving a configured zone. The aim is to support freedom of movement, with clear choices about location sharing.

Planned capability

A conversation. A familiar message.

We’re planning live two-way conversation with family or carers, using the orange button for push-to-talk. They could also send a recorded message or a spoken care instruction to MEMENTO, with the person’s permission and preferences guiding when contact is welcome.

The button’s role depends on the moment: confirming a reminder in the current Technical Evaluation workflow, or speaking back during a planned conversation.

Technical Evaluation

Gentle reminders

A spoken prompt for an appointment, a daily routine or something the person wants to remember. Choose the wording and timing around their day, with reviewed familiar-voice messages where configured.

Technical Evaluation

Alerts with a plan

Decide who should be informed and how to follow up when assistance is requested, a reminder goes unanswered or a safe-zone event occurs. Reassurance for the person and a clear next step for the people who care.

These workflows are under Technical Evaluation. Location awareness depends on available location data; notifications depend on connectivity and configured delivery services. They are not a guaranteed emergency response.

06 Familiar voices

A voice you know.
A little reassurance.

Voice cloning · Under evaluation

Reassurance is about more than the words.

We’re exploring consent-based voice cloning so MEMENTO can deliver reviewed messages in a voice the person knows and chooses.

From an everyday reminder to an unsettling moment, the aim is to make support feel more familiar, build trust and offer reassurance.

This experience is still under evaluation. We have not established that it prevents panic or reduces anxiety.

Permission comes first

The voice owner explicitly agrees to the use of their voice. The person hearing it should have a say, too.

Words chosen with care

Messages are reviewed before use, with attention to what feels familiar, respectful and appropriate for the person.

Connection stays human

Generated messages should be clearly identified. In a critical situation, reassurance must accompany appropriate human help.

07 Thoughtful about privacy

Intelligence,
where it belongs.

Some things should stay close to home.

MEMENTO is being designed to understand as much as possible locally, on the device.

In the current Technical Evaluation architecture, live camera recognition happens on MEMENTO. Its camera frames stay on the device; this is not a continuous cloud video feed.

Guided setup is different: a recording you explicitly confirm in the Care dashboard is processed by the Platform to prepare a face profile. Approved recognition material can then be securely synchronized to the device.

We are still evaluating the system and its safeguards. Our direction is clear: purposeful information sharing, understandable choices and respect for the person at the centre.

Technical Evaluation

Real technology.
Careful progress.

MEMENTO’s functionality is real and runs on actual hardware. The Platform and device are undergoing the validation needed before Production use.

Technical Evaluation is for controlled evaluation. Recognition safety validation remains pending. MEMENTO is not approved for production use or medical diagnosis.

08 The people behind MEMENTO

A personal beginning.
A shared belief.

We didn’t begin with a technology and search for a problem. We began with a problem that had become personal.

That lived experience continues to shape how we build: by listening, questioning our assumptions and keeping the person — and the people around them — at the centre.

We believe needing support should still leave room for choice, connection and a life that feels like your own.

For partners, collaborators & investors

Help us make more room
for independence.

We’re building MEMENTO because we believe ageing and needing support should not automatically mean surrendering independence.

If that belief resonates with you, we’d like to talk.
